About Us

HAnSA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Illinois.

At HAnSA, we believe that art can support mental health and well-being. Through art and creativity, we create opportunities for people to connect, express themselves, build compassion, and experience the positive effects of creativity.

Our work is informed by Positive Psychology, with a focus on strengths, well-being, and helping individuals and communities flourish. We embrace people from all backgrounds and believe that everyone should be treated with kindness and respect.

We also value the appreciation and preservation of ancient and traditional art, promoting a deeper understanding of its cultural significance. Through creative and educational programs, exhibitions, research, and outreach, we connect people with cultural heritage and use art to build cultural bridges.

Community Impact

We promote mental health, peace, and well-being by using creativity as a tool to bridge gaps, build compassion, and foster understanding. We embrace everyone, regardless of background or identity, where everyone is heartily welcome.

Our work is guided by the principles of Positive Psychology, with a focus on building compassionate individuals, families, and communities.

At HAnSA, we bring art and creativity into community spaces to support mental health, well-being, connection, and personal growth. Our community programs include art activities and workshops in shelters, senior living communities, schools, and other local settings.

Through these programs, we create opportunities for people to express themselves, connect with others, explore their creativity, and experience the positive effects of art. We welcome people of different ages, backgrounds, and abilities.

We provide services at Women’s Shelter.
